DESCRIPTION:HPD will discuss ICE and MT4P has drafted 5 demands for HPD. \nView the agenda or download the meeting packet here \n  \nOur allies at Montana for Palestine (MT4P) have put together a petition with the following demands for the city: \n\nLocal law enforcement does not participate in immigration enforcement operations and activities. This means that no time or resources are spent on immigration enforcement\, that no officers are deputized for immigration enforcement\, and that there are no 287(g) agreements or any other type of immigration enforcement agreement signed by the city with federal authorities.\nLocal law enforcement or any staff employed by the city may not request information from anyone about their citizenship or immigration status.\nLocal law enforcement and city staff will not provide record information to federal immigration authorities that is not legally required.\nLocal law enforcement is required to request any federal immigration authorities (including Department of Homeland Security (DHS)\, ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement) & CBP (Custom & Border Patrol)) to de-mask and identify themselves by name and agency to individuals they are interacting with and the public whenever they interact with the public. Local law enforcement must document any refusal by federal authorities to comply.\nLocal law enforcement must report all requests for assistance from immigration enforcement (along with the response) on a publicly available website. Any individual’s names who are the subject of the immigration enforcement requests are redacted for privacy.
